Sujit Choudhry Submits Letter to Help Resolve Political Crisis in Spain and Catalonia

Legal expert and scholar Sujit Choudhry and other constitutional law experts have looked to help resolve a political crisis that is currently taking place in Spain and Catalonia. The government of Catalonia wants to secede from Spain and get independence. With this situation taking place, Choudhry and the other scholars have written a letter to both governments to urge them to resolving the conflict. Sujit wrote a letter to the Spanish Prime Minister Rajoy to accept Catalonia’s proposal for secession. He also wrote a letter to the President of Catalonia Puigdemont to encourage him to secede from Spain. With this effort, Choudhry and the scholars are looking to help both parties make beneficial changes to their respective areas. It is also being done to help ensure that the citizens of these places attain more political stability.

After working for the Canadian Supreme Court, Sujit would move on to the educational sector. He would begin teaching constitutional law at the University of Toronto Law School. Within a couple of years, Sujit would advance among the faculty hierarchy and attain the position as an assistant dean. Choudhry would have a similar experience in the United States when he would teach constitutional law at the University of California Berkeley.
